TIPS FOR MAXIMIZING THE ACTIVE LEARNING SPACE (RM 2202)
The layout of the room supports group work and the instructor is allowed to move around the room to gauge learners’ understanding and involvement. Students can freely move between groups to utilize active learning strategies. Consider such strategies as role play, jigsaw, and peer review.
Four video screens are located in the corners of the room. The instructor can control what media goes to each video screen. For example all screens can display the same material, or, each table can connect their own computer to display individual group work.
White boards are located around the room and are movable. The boards can be used for brainstorming, problem-solving, listing, etc. Students can be reminded to take a photo of their work before erasing the white board.
